The Future of www.Pokgai.WordPress.com

October 24, 2007

We are pleased to announce that “www.Pokgai.WordPress.com” has now been acquired by Google. There will be many exciting changes made to both the home site and the “PokgaiWordPress” YouTube channel in the coming months. In order to promote user relations, consumer satisfaction, and overall awareness.

Blah Blah Blah… That was a lame joke wasn’t it? But you know guys, I been thinking of making some significant changes. The reason behind this is that I know I can do so much better. Why don’t you take a look at this graph:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Now it’s no secret that most of my hits each day are based because of MapleStory posts, I would estimate it to be around 70% of the hit. Last month I gained 17,00 hits and by the end of this month, I expect it to drop to around 15,000. Now please don’t click the close button, because there is a point I’m trying to make by pulling this chart out.

Since I started making my “Running in the 90’s”, “Sprinting in 90’s, “Wii Virtual Console” and random vlogs, I noticed that the number of subscribers have gone up by 97 to 436 as of today. This is definitely a good sign telling me I’m doing something right. However as I stated above, I think I can do much better.

Now I haven’t said this much, but I am very fortunate for my “former status” in MapleStory that I still have these people visiting my blog everyday. But I need to attract these and other people to my new videos.

So that brings me to my questions that I need to ask myself:

What kind of audience am I aiming for?

8 year old “AZN” kids? 12+ year olds who remember the 90’s? 30 year old single males?!
Well as of far, most of my viewers are people used to watch my old MapleStory content. I know I have made some new subscribers from video game forums, sites with my video game related videos. Also just the general YouTube populous with my broad topics I cover and advertising them through video responses.

How do I continue to promote my videos and have people watch them.

As of now I been sharing on various forums, websites and all around YouTube and it is sure taking it’s time. Then again, I must ask myself, why do I bother to even get more people to watch when I make videos for myself?

Jajaja… Now I just trapped myself. I should stop writing or else I’m going to start sounding like a fool.

In summary for people that care:

  • I’m thinking of having daily updates of some sort which cover anything I care about. This will surely get more people to click this blog once a day to check out what I have to say. Yay or Nay?
  • Making a YouTube asking my subscribers what they liked about my videos and generally just founding out more about what direction I should be headed. Maybe promote more response by offer the IGN, PokGai, for Maple Global.
  • Give it up! o___o

I think I just need to grow a pair of breast and wear a tight tank top, that will surely get me viewers.

More games!

October 23, 2007

I picked up Viewtiful Joe 2 today at FutureShop for 9.99. I think I will open it up when I finish the first one. This sequel has a pretty decent rating 8.0+

I recieved my first Ebay auction win today. The shipping was suprisingly fast yet like always expensive x.x  It was 16 bucks but 10 bucks shipping so 26 bucks for a factory sealed game (which I will never find in Canada is pretty good.)
